My name is Eric Thomson. My wife Jennifer and I met through the same church each of us have attended since Jr. High. Although we knew about each other back then in our Jr. High youth group (“The Flood Zone”), Jen and I never actually met until July 2007. I had recently moved back to Conroe after being away for a few years going to UofH. When I first saw Jen at this point I thought she was the most beautiful girl ever (her status as most beautiful remained unquestioned until a new challenger appeared with the birth of our baby girl, but I don’t want to jump ahead). Jennifer and I began talking immediately. Within the first couple of weeks we decided we should date (which is a decision that neither of us were willing to take lightly). Within the first couple of months I realized that the girl I was having so much fun spending my time with was the very same girl with the very same qualities that I had been praying for. Jen and I each had a list of qualities we expected our future spouses to possess. Each of us found those qualities in each other so 5 months into our relationship I proposed! When I came back to the Ark (our church) after being away at school I began serving as a volunteer in the high school youth group (Stadium) – Jen was already a volunteer. Because of our history with the youth group at the Ark, I proposed to Jen on stage during a Wednesday night service on December 12th, 2007. We had an amazing wedding on May 3, 2008 and have had an amazing marriage from the very start. Within the first few weeks God showed us His perfect will for our lives when Jen became pregnant! On January 28, 2009 our precious Sadie was born! When I fell in love with Jen I could not imagine myself loving another person as much as I love her, and that has remained true except for this one exception. Sadie Suzette Thomson, our beautiful little baby girl, has had her daddy wrapped around her tiny fingers from day one.
That is how we met. Now who we are:
Jennifer was born in Conroe and has lived here her entire life, except for a couple of brief hiatuses where she lived in Hawaii and New Zealand! She attended Lifestyle Christian Academy, was home schooled, and eventually graduated early from PCAL – a Christian school in the Woodlands. Jen also attended and graduated from the Aveda Institute and is a wonderful hair stylist in Conroe.
I was born in Houston and moved to Willis at the age of 4. I graduated from Willis High School and went on to Sam Houston State for two years and finished up my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston. I currently work in IT for a financial services company in Houston and I am also a Realtor with Realty Associates in Montgomery.
